Sr. Stella Thomas is a Religious Sister from the Congregation of Salesian Missionaries of Mary Immaculate (SMMI).She is presently the Head of the Department of English, Don Bosco College, Maram, Manipur University. She is currently pursuing her PHD in Assam Don Bosco University, Guwahati. Her area of research is African American writings as well as in Indian writings in English. She has presented papers in International conferences and National Seminars. In her tenure as a HOD of the department, she has organized a National seminar with the Funding Agencies of ICSSR and State Government. She is also serving as a Programme officer of NSS (National Service Scheme) and in the year 2012, in recognition of her outstanding contribution towards the society, she is awarded (IGNSS) Indira Gandhi NSS programme Officer Award. She has many years of teaching experiences. Before teaching in the college, she served as a Headmistress of three schools in Assam, Manipur and Meghalaya. More than an educator, she is an active social worker.
