Dr Amit Rauth is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English, Kalimpong College, West Bengal. He is also an academic counsellor at IGNOU and teaches English to Masters students. He obtained his M.A., M.Phil. and Ph.D. in English Literature from the esteemed The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad. He has published a number of articles in reputed Journals and Books in the area of Folklore, Oral Culture and literature and presented papers both at national and international level including one at California, U.S.A. His research interests include Performance Studies, Cultural Studies, Dalit and Tribal Literature, Translation and Literary theory among others. His recent publication includes co-authored book, Covid Narratives and Politics of the New Normal: Issues, Challenges and Perspectives published in June, 2021 while another co-authored book Lepcha Dramas in Translation is also under publication by Authors Press, New Delhi. Apart from academic duties, he also holds administrative posts of importance.
He is a life member of EFSLE and also one of the Coordinators of its West Bengal- North Region.
