Dr. Garima Gupta is presently working as faculty (Sr Asstt Prof) in the Department of English, University of Jammu. Apart from being a double gold medalist in B.A and M.A, and SET, NET, JRF, SRF recipient, she was given the Indira Gandhi Women Achiever’s Award by the India International Friendship Society in 2010. With almost a decade of teaching experience, she has participated in numerous national and international conferences, both in India and abroad. She has published extensively on various topics national and international journals and anthologies and has written and edited a couple of Books with leading national and International publishers. She is on the Editorial Board of two UGC approved Journals- Researcher: A Multidisciplinary Journal published by the University of Jammu and The Criterion: An International Journal in English.
She is an active translator and is associated with the National Translation Mission. Her translations have been published by Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi and J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. Her focus areas are Indian literatures, translation, gender studies, communication skills and folk. She is also working with regional NGO ASHI for rehabilitating women and children displaced due to terrorism and other forms of violence. She is presently working on a major project of the UGC involving a comparative study of Dogri and Kashmiri folktales.
