Dr Meera Vasani is an Assistant Professor and PhD Guide in English Department at Institute of Infrastructure, Technology, Research and Management (IITRAM), Ahmedabad. She has received Gold Medal and University first honour in both Bachelor & Master Degrees. She has received her Doctorate Degree in 2013 from Saurashtra University, Rajkot. Her thesis title is Narrating the Community: A Critical Study of the works of Bapsi Sidhwa, Rohinton Mistry, M.G.Vassanji & I. Allan Sealy. She has cleared Gujarat Public Service Commission twice and is serving Government of Gujarat. She has a wide experience of teaching to undergraduates, postgraduates & doctorate students in different colleges. She is an invited fellow of University of Manitoba for the study of Indigenous people of Canada.
She has received honour code certificate from Berkeley X, the University of California as a successfully completed English Grammar and Essay Writing course on edX online Platform. She has chaired many sessions in National& International events. She is Life Time member of The Indian Society for Technical Education and an Executive Committee Member of Indian Association for Canadian Studies. She has presented number of papers at conferences both home and abroad, published articles and papers in various journals, works as an editor and has published04 books in 2014 and a book chapter Recent Trend in Teaching with the help of VLE with a special focus on MOOCs in the book Personal Learning Environment: Pedagogical Tool for Digital Age ISBN: 978-93-84833-091 in 2016. Her research interest includes Diaspora and Identity Crisis, Canadian Studies, Eco criticism and Tribal Literature, Culture and Sustainability.
She is a lifetime member of EFSLE and also a Coordinator for its Gujarat – ENC Region.
