Dr Runoo Ravi is Assistant Professor in the Department of English at Gaya College, Magadh University. She has previously worked as Assistant Professor in Dept of English, Patna Women’s College, Patna University. She has qualified UGC NET and holds a Masters Degree in Women & Gender Studies as well. Her doctoral thesis is on “Multiple Women’s Subjectivities in the Select Works of Anita Desai, Krupabai Satthianadhan and Attia Hosain”. She has presented papers in International and National Seminars & Conferences and has attended a number of workshops. Her research papers have been widely published in International and National journals and have also been included as chapters in edited books. Her research paper on The Progressive-Positive Scenario in Bihar with regards to the girl-child has recently been accepted for publication for a book by NABARD, Bihar. She also has a number of short stories published in Criterion, the international online journal.
Her area of specialization is Indian English Literature while her focus is on Films as a part of Cultural Studies, Gender Issues, Feminist Studies and Environmental concerns. She is presently working on her book on Gender and Empowerment.
She has been appointed as one of the Coordinators of EFSLE for its Bihar region.
