Dr Shailendra P. Singh serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of English, St. John’s College, Agra. He joined the college as Assistant Professor in 1992 and has been serving there ever since. He did his PhD in English on the topic “Anguish in the Plays of Harold Pinter” and has been engaged in the study and teaching of literature. His current area of interest is the South Asian literature in English. He has made many conference presentations and written many research papers exploring feminist issues, marginality, human predicament and ecocritical concerns in South Asian literature. As an activist, he has conducted many programmes on gender sensitization and issues related to the environment. He was invited as a panelist in “National Conference on Global Warming & Climate Change – A Way Out”, organised by the Urban Development and Environment Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal. One of his overarching passions is to the dissemination of environmental consciousness, which he sees as critical to the future of humanity.
He is a lifetime member of EFSLE and he has also been appointed as one of the Executive Council Members (ECM) for its Uttar Pradesh- West Region.
