Dr Sujama Roy is an Assistant Professor in Tourism at the ICFAI University Sikkim. An ex-student of Presidency College, Kolkata and University of Sunderland UK she takes keen interest on Tourism as a significant social phenomenon and has always taken an interdisciplinary approach in all her tourism researches. Her teaching and work experiences spanned over time at Universities in the UK and in India, in Destination Management Company, leading tour operator in North East India as well as not-for-profit organization in India. Her research and publications include various issues related to Tourism Landscape, Travel Narratives, Tourism theories etc. Her workaccomplishment includes working in collaboration with regional and state government in connecting the livelihood of rural mass through tourism, policy paper prepared for local government (Gorkha Territorial Administration), extensive research experience in Rural Tourism in North East India and, documentation of local cultural and natural heritage through tourism.
She is a lifetime member of EFSLE and also she has been appointed as one of the Executive Council Members (ECM) for its Sikkim Region.
