Dr Sumana Biswas has been working as an Assistant Professor [S.F.S.] in the Department of English, Chhatrapati Sahuji Maharaj University, Kanpur, India since 2010. Her areas of research consist of Eco-criticism, Eco-Feminism, Feminism, Symbolism and their applications in interpreting and analyzing various literary texts. She has supervised 40 MPhil dissertations till date.She has worked as an Associate Editor for The International Journal of Humanities and The International Journal of Social Sciences in 2006 and 2008. She has been publishing in peer-reviewed national and international journals of repute. Publications in the form of chapters in books/anthologies, besides conference and seminar paper presentations also add to her credit. She is an active member of the Syllabus Committee of the Department of Higher Studies in English and Foreign Languages under the BOS of School of Languages. She also plays the role of Department’s faculty coordinator of the University Placement and Innovation Cell, and the University’s Universal Human Values Cell.
She is a life member of EFSLE and also one of the Coordinators of its Uttar Pradesh- Central Region.
